Beta Alpha Psi is an international honor society for high quality accounting students that recognizes academic excellence and complements members' formal education by providing interaction among students, faculty, and professionals, and fosters lifelong growth, service and ethical conduct.

On September 4, 2008, the Mu Beta Chapter (#277) of Beta Alpha Psi at the College of Charleston was officially installed by BAP President Nancy Nichols (JMU) and BAP Director Suzanne McCaffrey (Ole Miss).  At the installation dinner, 62 members, including eight Honorary Members, were formally initiated as founding members of the Mu Beta Chapter.

The addition of a Beta Alpha Psi chapter was an important milestone for the Accounting and Legal Studies Department.  Because Beta Alpha Psi is SO well-known nationally for educating its members on career opportunities, allowing its members to find ways to better the lives of others AND being a society that includes only the most academically qualified students, members of Beta Alpha Psi tend to be heavily recruited for most of the best jobs that the accounting profession has to offer.

Now that we have a chapter at the College of Charleston, current and future generations of our students will have access to the best positions with the best employers.  If you are interested in being a candidate for Beta Alpha Psi membership, contact Akiesha Worley at alworley@edisto.cofc.edu.
