He has done post-doctoral work at the University of Puerto Rico and at Florida State University.
He has taught a wide variety of courses including those in the area of his specialty, analytical chemistry (Quantitative Analysis and Instrumental Analysis), as well as service courses (Principles of Chemistry and Honors Chemistry) and advanced topics courses (Environmental Chemistry, Radiochemistry, and Chemical Oceanography). His students, both current and former, routinely give his courses and his delivery of material high praise. He works long hours to keep his material current, relevant, and accessible to students with a broad range of backgrounds and abilities. HE also teaches teh laboratory sections associated with many of the courses. Again, he continually updates and revitalizes those programs with novel laboratory experiences.
