Campus Recreation Facilities

Two proud gymnasiums combine to form one large activity center that serves our campus. The F. Mitchell Johnson Physical Education Center built in 1981 and the Willard Silcox Physical Education and Health Center renovated in 1995 occupy the corner of George and Meeting Streets.

Our newest fitness center is located on the 2nd floor of the Stern Student Center located on the other end of George Street. This 2,000 sq. ft. fitness area is loaded with cardio equipment and a full run of selectorized resistance training equipment. The Stern Center is also home to a 25-meter swimming pool.

An additional 3,400 sq. ft. of space on the 2nd floor of the Bell South Building houses our free weight training area.  Some cardio equipment is found here as well.

Located in the Robert Scott Small Building is a 1500 sq. ft. dance studio that is available for group use.  Reservations must be obtained by groups looking to use this space.

For outdoor activity, a short drive away is our 12-acre site adjacent to the James Island County Park. "The Yard", as we call it, serves the CRS intramural sports leagues and the CRS sport clubs.
