Dr. Fronabarger joined the faculty in 1984. He earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees
in geology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and his B.S. degree
in Geology from the University of Missouri, Rolla (Missouri School of Mines
and Metallurgy). He has traveled extensively in Europe, Japan, and Africa, has
worked for the Peace Corps, Government, and Industry. Dr. Fronabarger is fluent
in French.
His teaching interests include Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology, Introduction
to Petrology, Environment, as well as Dynamic Earth and the History of the Earth.
Dr. Fronabarger's current research activities include the study of Structural
Stability of two Theban Tombs near Luxor, Egypt, Geologic Mapping of the Theban
Necropolis, and the Relationship of Pharonic Tomb Construction techniques to
the geology of the Theban Necropolis.
