Local Conservation Resources
South
Carolina Coastal Conservation League The best damn non-profit
conservation organization in the region, period. Its mission is to protect the South
Carolina coastal plain.
Sierra Club
The local chapter (Lunz Group) meets at 7:00pm on the
first Thursday of each month at Baruch Auditorium (MUSC), Calhoun Street--just
a few blocks from CofC. This is a very active group with excellent programs,
regular outings, and important conservation efforts. A good way to meet
new friends and learn about your local outdoors....

Information
about the historic Ashley River, Columbia's Broad River, and other specially-designated
scenic rivers in SC. This site ismaintained by the SC
Department of Natural Resources, which is where you need to go
for outdoor permits (e.g., fishing or hunting license), boater education courses,
state rules and regulations, and so on.
