Radiochemistry
Faculty Position
The
Department of Chemistry is seeking 2 candidates for full-time,
9-month, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor positions in
Chemistry, commencing Fall 2008.
Highest priority is a position in UNLV's Radiochemistry program,
in which current research focuses on the chemistry of technetium
and the actinides in solids, separations, the environment, and
chemical syntheses. Successful applicants will be expected to
develop a rigorous, externally funded research program that
contributes to growing graduate programs in radiochemistry,
chemistry, and/or chemical education. Further information on the
Radiochemistry and Chemistry programs can be found at
radchem.nevada.edu and
http://sciences.unlv.edu/Chemistry/.

Research Assistant Professor
The University of Missouri Research Reactor
Center invites applicants for a non-tenure track research
assistant professor in archaeometry/archaeology for the Fall
2008. The position requires a Ph.D. in archaeology,
anthropology, or associated area.
The successful applicant is expected to develop an independent,
externally funded research program that utilizes the resources
of the nation's largest university research reactor to address
fundamental research problems in archaeometry using nuclear
methods of analysis. 8/23/2008 |

Research Assistant Professor
The University of Missouri Research Reactor
Center invites applicants for a non-tenure track research
assistant professor in radioanalytical chemistry for the Fall
2008. The position requires a Ph.D. in chemistry. Post Doctoral
experience is preferred but not required. The successful
applicant is expected to develop an independent, externally
funded research program that utilizes the resources of the
nation's largest university research reactor to address basic
and applied science research problems using nuclear methods of
analysis. 9/19/2008 |

Positions
are immediately available in the Neutrino–Nuclear Chemistry
Group of the Brookhaven National Laboratory Chemistry
Department. The group’s main interdisciplinary research focus in
chemistry and physics, as previously evidenced by its
participation in the GALLEX and Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (SNO)
solar neutrino experiments, is the study of neutrino
oscillations and neutrino mass. Currently the Group is active in
new collaborations to develop and build Metal-Loaded
Organic-Liquid Scintillators, to detect (a) >2-MeV antineutrinos
in a project that is under construction at the nuclear-power
reactor station at Daya Bay in China, (b) >1-MeV neutrinos from
double beta-decay, planned for SNOLAB in Sudbury, Canada, and
(c) 100-1500-keV neutrinos emitted by the Sun, planned for the
new U.S. DUSEL. Candidates should have received a Ph.D. within
the past four years in either nuclear chemistry, or separations
chemistry, or radiochemistry, or nuclear science.

Postdoctoral
Position in Nuclear Chemistry
A postdoctoral position will be available starting October 1st,
2007 in the Department of Chemistry at Indiana University,
Bloomington, for a recent nuclear science Ph.D. This position is
within the Nuclear Chemistry group at the Indiana University
Cyclotron Facility (IUCF). The group utilizes intermediate
energy heavy-ion reactions to learn about the properties of
nuclei and nuclear matter away from stability. Experiments are
conducted using accelerators at MSU-NSCL, TAMU, and GANIL
(France). 08/08/2007 |
