Geographical Placements - 2003


As shown in Table 14, 41% of the full-time jobs held by the 2002-2003 graduates were located in South Carolina. This percentage is lower than the respondents of this class who were surveyed one year after graduation, in which 51% of respondents were located in SC.

Most South Carolina graduates tend to accept full-time employment in their home state.  Of the 55 South Carolina respondents,  80% began work in South Carolina after graduation.  Of the out of state respondents, 26% remained in South Carolina after graduation (See Table 15).

Of the 196 respondents who were employed full-time and declared the location of their current job, approximately 58% work in 6 cities (N=114).  Charleston has the highest concentration of graduates (N=78), followed by Columbia, SC (N=10).  For a list of cities with at least 5 graduates see Table 16.  Appendix A and Appendix B provide complete lists of cities and states where graduates are currently employed.
