Geographical Placements - 2001


As shown in Table 14, 44% of the full-time jobs held by the 2000-2001 graduates were located in South Carolina. In comparison, this percentage is a little less than the respondents of this class who were surveyed one year after graduation, in which 49% of respondents were located in SC.

Most South Carolina graduates tend to accept full-time employment in their home state.  Of the 112 South Carolina respondents,  63% began work in South Carolina after graduation.  Of the out of state respondents, 21% remained in South Carolina after graduation (See Table 15).

Of the 166 respondents who were employed full-time and declared the location of their current job, approximately 40% work in 5 cities (N=66).  Charleston has the highest concentration of graduates (N=37), followed by Mount Pleasant (N=10).  For a list of cities with at least 5 graduates see Table 16.  Appendix A and Appendix B provide complete lists of cities and states where graduates are currently employed.
