Student Parking

Students who require parking must apply for parking in advance each semester. Parking applications will be available as listed below:

SUMMER 2008: March 3, 2008 through March 24, 2008 (dates are subject to change)

FALL 2008: April 14, 2008 through June 16, 2008 (dates are subject to change)

Students will be reminded of application availability dates via College email, the George Street Observer, and postings in most buildings on campus. Applications are available via the Cougar Trail, but only during the application availability timeframe listed above.

After the student assignments are emailed, students may pay for their permits through Cougar Trail, by selecting Power Park from the column titled College. Payments must be made by the payment deadline, or the assignment will be forfeited.

Available permits/garage cards will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis to students who miss the application deadline date beginning on the date listed below:
Summer 2008 first-come, first-serve date is May 5, 2008.
Fall 2008 first-come, first-serve date is August 22, 2008.

A photo ID and vehicle registration must be presented at time of purchase.

Student permits are valid in all student surface lots after 3:00 PM Monday through Friday and all day on weekends.

STUDENT ELIGIBILITY
Students will be assigned parking based on the number of cumulative credit hours earned and on file with the Office of the Registrar at the time that assignments are made. In the event of identical credit hours earned, applications first received will have priority.

Students living on campus who have fewer than thirty (30) cumulative credit hours earned and on file with the Office of the Registrar at the time that assignments are made are not eligible to apply for College parking.

Eligible resident students living in a Bull Street house or an odd-numbered Coming Street house may request on-street residential parking (CR).

ALTERNATE PARKING
If you are interested in securing parking through a source not affiliated with the College of Charleston, please click here for a listing of alternative parking spaces leased to students.

ACCESSIBLE PARKING
Students who require accessible parking should complete an accessible parking permit application each semester in the Parking Services Office. Please see the section regarding Accessible Parking for more information.
