The Department of Physical Education and Health
offers a Minor
in Health. This minor is available to students NOT MAJORING
IN
PHYSICAL EDUCATION. In order to declare a health minor,
the
student must meet with the Health Coordinator to complete a program of
study. The required courses for the student minoring in Health
are
HEAL 216, 217, 225, and 257. Six hours of electives must be chosen:
HEAL
240, 317, 320, 323,325, 347, 390, 401; BIOL 204; PSYC 333; or SOCY
336.
Students taking the internship, HEAL 403, must apply at least one year
before the internship begins and must have a minimum overall GPA of
2.50
and two letters of recommendation. The application letter and two
letters of recommendation must be received by the last day of classes
one
year in advance. The maintenance of a minimum GPA of 2.00 in the
health minor course work is required for successful completion.
