The College of Charleston Psychology Department sponsors a chapter of Psi Chi, the national honor society in Psychology. Membership is open to undergraduate and graduate students who are making the study of Psychology one of their major interests and who have met the minimum qualifications.

What is Psi Chi?
Psi Chi is the National Honor Society in Psychology founded in 1929 for the purpose of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship and advancing the science of Psychology. Psi Chi is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS) and is an affiliate of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the American Psychological Society (APS).

Membership to Psi Chi is an earned honor. Members join with faculty in activities of interest to Psychology. A quarterly national newsletter is distributed on campus. Psi Chi is useful for reference purpose such as applications to graduate school and for jobs. Applications for membership are currently being accepted. Click here for additional information.
There is a one-time fee of $45 for lifetime membership in the national organization. There are no annual dues for Psi Chi.
