Graduate Assistantships

Graduate Research Assistantships for MPA students are available through many departments and offices on campus. The MPA program supports four graduate assistantships on a twelve-month basis. Only students who are enrolled full time with no academic restrictions will be considered for an assistantship. The assistantships are awarded on the following criteria:

  • Student's academic performance
  • Individual skills, abilities and qualifications (resume)
  • Institute needs with respect to specific research projects

In addition, the MPA program also hires a graduate assistant to assist with recruiting, publish newsletters, work on the website, and help out with administrative tasks.  Applications for the graduate assistantships are available from the MPA Office and the Graduate School. To be considered for an assistantship for the fall semester the application must be completed by April 15th and, for spring semester, October 15th.

Graduate assistants are expected to work up to 20 hours per week on Institute projects. In some cases, they may be assigned to individual faculty for research projects. For more information call the MPA office at 953-6100.

Applications for MPA and other departmental assistantships can be found on the Graduate School website.

If you have completed an assistantship application during your admissions process through the Graduate School, please call the MPA office prior to the application deadline and confirm that your application for a MPA assistantship has been received for review.
