Participants learned by doing engaging hands-on, inquiry-based science activities about movement of the Earth’s plates, energy release, and wave propagation. Seismic hazards were investigated using historical, geographic, and scientific inquiries and finally, participants learned about locating, measuring and predicting earthquakes. All of the activities in this session aid educators in meeting multiple national education standards including portions of the following; National Science Education Standards, Principles and Standards for School Mathematics, Curriculum Standards for Social Studies, and National Geography Standards.
