Understanding Earthquake Information and How It Can Help You | February 29, 2008 Offered by the South Carolina Earthquake Education and Preparedness (SCEEP) Center and hosted by the South Carolina Emergency Management Division (SCEMD) Date: February 29, 2008 | 9 AM – 3 PM Location: SCEMD, Pine Ridge Armory, 2779 Fish Hatchery Rd, West Columbia, SC 29172 Description: This workshop focused on understanding earthquake information and how this understanding can help emergency management teams make sound decisions and requests. SCEEP will provide background in SC geology, explain uses and interpretation of real-time seismic information, explain common ground failures associated with earthquakes, and provide an overview of HAZUS-MH, including how SCEMD uses HAZUS for emergency management.
