Cognition and Aging Laboratory

Department of Psychology, College of Charleston

Director: Dr. Katherine White

Research at the Cognition & Aging Lab investigates many cognitive processes and how they typically change with aging. Much of our research focuses on memory and language processes. We are interested in what cognitive declines occur with age, as well as how we might offset or compensate for potential declines.

We have a pool of volunteers, aged 60 and above, who participate in our research studies. We contact volunteers once or twice a year to let them know about a new study, and visits are scheduled at their convenience. Most research studies last between one and two hours, and all participants are compensated at a rate of $10 per visit.
