To the FWGNA:

There has been some (understandable) confusion regarding 2000 membership dues in the Freshwater Mollusk Conservation Society.

Everybody on this list should have received a copy of Ellipsaria 2(1) last month.  (Please let me know if you didn't!)  Inside that newsletter was a green insert entitled "Membership Application."  Many of you completed that form and mailed it, along with $30 dues, to Heidi Dunn.  Good.

But at least one or two of you, already 1999 members, reasonably assumed that this green sheet was for new members only, and that you would receive some later notification from the Society to renew your dues.

No, actually, the green insert serves this year as a Membership *Renewal* form, as well as a Membership Application form.  So you 1999 members also need to fill out at least the top part and send it with $30 to Heidi.  There's no need to complete the lower "Information for FMCS Membership Directory" part, unless this has changed recently.

If you've lost the form, you can get another one at:
http://www.sari.org/FMCS_Membership_Form.htm

In the future, we will have a separate mailing for membership renewal, as is customary for other societies.  Sorry about the confusion.

Best,
Rob
