Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (S.A.C.S.) requires that all syllabi of proposed courses be reviewed for the essentials. Based on the review, a decision is made about whether graduate credit should be awarded for the proposed course, how many hours of graduate credit should be awarded for the proposed course, and whether a grade will be awarded or pass/fail will be assigned for the proposed course.
New "No child Left Behind Act" Syllabus Implications Scientifically or Research Based Information: Beginning in 2004 the N.C.L.B. Act will start requiring a report from each state on how scientific or research based goals, objectives, and course content is being included as part of professional development course work. Obviously, this action will result in school districts being asked for information on how this criterion is being addressed in Professional Development course syllabi.
