Diane C. Johnson

1980 Distinguished Research Award


Diane C. Johnson received her B.A. at Radcliffe College, Harvard University in 1965, her M.A. in 1967, and her Ph.D. from the University of Kansas in 1970. Since 1980 she has been with the College of Charleston as a Professor of Fine Arts and Art History. She has also served as Chair for the Department of Art History, School of the Arts, Founder and Chair of the Fine Arts Department, and Addlestone Chair in American Art, Culture, and History. Her book, American Art Nouveau was selected as one of 50 books by Metropolitan Museum of Art New York’s Watson Library’s “Outstanding Art Books of 1979” exhibition.
