Barbara E. Walvoord, Ph.D., is Director
of the John A. Kaneb Center for Teaching and Learning,
concurrent Professor of English, and Fellow of the Institute for Educational
Initiatives at the
University of Notre Dame. She has published numerous books and articles about
writing, teaching,
and learning in higher education. She consults with a number of colleges and
universities and offers
workshops and conference presentations on teaching and learning and student
writing across the
disciplines. Named Maryland English Teacher of the Year for Higher Education
in 1987, she also
received the University of Notre Dame President's Award in 2000.
