Join us for the Second Annual GSA Kick-Off!

The GSA Senate Meeting scheduled for Friday, September 5 has been rescheduled for Friday, September 12.
The location is in the Tate Center.

 

How to sign up for the GSA events listserv: send an email to LISTSERV@listserv.cofc.edu with nothing in the Subject line and the following in the body of the email: subscribe GSAevents <first name> <last name> (hit the return/enter key).  IE: subscribe GSAevents Joe Smith

 


What can you do in 365 days?

Here's what the Graduate Student Association did:

  • Became the official governing body for graduate students
  • Recieved our own budget
  • Raised around $3000 for Dance Marathon charity supporting MUSC's children's hospital
  • Gained a seat on
    • the Board of Trustees Student Affairs Committee
    • The Campus Sustainability Committee
    • The Strategic Planning Committee
    • The Spirit Panel
  • Formed three new graduate student organizations:
    • The History Program Student Government
    • The Education Program Student Government
    • The Green Graduates
  • Met on a monthly basis to recognize studets' needs
  • Elected our first officers
  • Participated in Habitat for humanity blitz build
  • Cosponsored events with SGA, such as the bike auction and blood drive
  • Hosted the first social event for all graduate students at Grice Marine Laboratory
  • Cosponsored a graduate student mixer with the student goverments for MUSC and the Charleston School of Law
  • Watched our Interim President, Otis Pickett, speak at Graduation
