For four days in April, four College of Charleston students took over #cofc. From early morning until late in the evening, they tweeted their comings and goings, and answered questions from incoming students.

Major: Business Administration with minors in Crime, Law & Society, and Spanish
Hometown: Roxboro, N.C.
Interests/Activities:fraternity member, cadet with the Charleston Police Department, Charleston 40, and three on campus representative positions: High Cotton Ties, Country Club Prep, and Monster Energy.
Why CofC?:I chose the College because it offered a perfect blend of student life and academic opportunities, which binds the student body together in a way like no other. The combination of the small school feel with the mid-sized resources gives me a well-rounded liberal arts education from professors who are passionate about student success and increasing the professional opportunities provided by the City of Charleston.

Major: Biology, Pre-Med Concentration
Hometown: Columbia, Md.
Interests/Activities:soccer, basketball, golf, research with Dr. Justin Wyatt, pre-professional health peer mentor
Why CofC?:I chose the College because it still has a college campus feeling even though it is in a city. I am never bored here, and there is always something new to do. Also, the science classes here are awesome and prepare us very well for graduate (and medical) school, with lots of volunteer opportunities between MUSC and Roper Hospital, which are just a few blocks away. After being in Charleston for four years, I have never regretted my decision to go here once!

Major: Political Science and Communication
Hometown: Annapolis, Md.
Interests/Activities:Varsity Sailing Team, Congressional Campaign Volunteer, Athletics Communications Intern, Team Captain for Relay for Life's CofC Sailing Team group, running through the gorgeous streets of Charleston!
Why CofC?:It's hard to not fall in love with the City of Charleston and everything it offers! For me, a top sailing team paired with a top school in beautiful weather was the selling point. The academic departments have given me more opportunities than I would have ever thought, and have helped to make me an involved, well-rounded and incredibly happy student!

Major: Middle Grades Education
Hometown: Blythewood, S.C.
Interests/Activities:Chucktown Trippintones Acapella group, Spring Awakening (mainstage theater performance), Charleston 40, Residents Housing Association, and Orientation Intern
Why CofC?:I chose CofC because I'm able to customize my entire experience. I'm able to try a ton of different clubs and activities and hundreds of classes to find out who I am out in this world

Major: finance, economics, business administration
Hometown: Atlanta, Ga.
Interests/Activities:Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, Student Alumni Associates, Committed to Charleston Society, Charleston 40 (tour guides).
Why CofC?:The College of Charleston had everything that I was looking for in a university. It’s a mid-size school (not too large or too small) with an unbelievable history, small classes, beautiful weather, and most importantly – great people. This school and this city have given me the opportunities that no other place could.

Major: Business Administration
Hometown: Aiken, S.C.
Activities/Interests: I am heavily involved on campus in Greek life, CofC media, Student Ambassador and a member of the Student Government Association Advocacy and Diversity committee.
Why CofC?: I decided on the College because I love Charleston, the campus is amazing, the school is large but not overwhelming, and they had my major, of course.

Major: Media Communication
Hometown: Chicago, Ill
Interests/Activities: Club Tennis Team and Greek life. Also, I love to go running along the Battery and shopping on King Street.
Why CofC?: I am one of seven kids. I am the oldest girl and I was the first child to ever venture out of the state for college. After a year of attending (and loving!) the College, I talked my sister into coming here as well. I have an event planning internship here which is so fun because I work in a hotel down by the Battery. I truly love the College of Charleston. The past semester I studied at the College’s Trujillo, Spain campus and I sometimes talk about it at informational meetings. I have met friends here that I will have for life! I believe the College has truly prepared me for my future where I hope to one day be a sports broadcaster.

Major: International Studies, concentration in Latin America and the Caribbean
Hometown:Boston, M.A.
Activities/Interests: Charleston 40 tour guide, Admissions Representative, Intramural Volleyball, Greek Life, Model UN, C of C Radio
Why CofC?: I chose the College because of the personal education and the fact that I knew I wouldn't be just another face in the crowd.

Major: Exercise Science
Hometown: Florence, S.C.
Interests/Activities: Charleston 40, Orientation Intern, Resident Assistant (RA), afterschool tutor for Chucktown Squash and Greek life. In my free time I love to go to the beach, run, dance, shop, participate in any outdoors activities, and hang out with friends.
Why CofC?: To me CofC was the total package. The location offered me the best of both worlds being in such a historical and adventurous city, but at the same time the campus felt like a small school. I also wanted an education where I was more than just a number. With the class size and student to faculty ratio I knew that my professors would know me personally and care about helping me be successful. I would also be lying if I didn't say that the beauty of the city was a huge attraction. At the end of the day, the College was a no brainer!
