Day in the Life

For four days in April, four College of Charleston students took over #cofc. From early morning until late in the evening, they tweeted their comings and goings, and answered questions from incoming students.

Class of 2014

Major: finance, economics, business administration
Hometown: Atlanta, Ga

Interests/Activities:Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, Student Alumni Associates, Committed to Charleston Society, Charleston 40 (tour guides).

Why CofC?:The College of Charleston had everything that I was looking for in a university. It’s a mid-size school (not too large or too small) with an unbelievable history, small classes, beautiful weather, and most importantly – great people. This school and this city have given me the opportunities that no other place could.

Major: Business Administration
Hometown: Aiken, S.C.

Activities/Interests: I am heavily involved on campus in Greek life, CofC media, Student Ambassador and a member of the Student Government Association Advocacy and Diversity committee.

Why CofC?: I decided on the College because I love Charleston, the campus is amazing, the school is large but not overwhelming, and they had my major, of course.

Jessica Armbrust
Jessica Armbrust
Class of 2013

Major: Media Communication
Hometown: Chicago, Ill

Interests/Activities: Club Tennis Team and Greek life. Also, I love to go running along the Battery and shopping on King Street.

Why CofC?: I am one of seven kids. I am the oldest girl and I was the first child to ever venture out of the state for college. After a year of attending (and loving!) the College, I talked my sister into coming here as well. I have an event planning internship here which is so fun because I work in a hotel down by the Battery. I truly love the College of Charleston. The past semester I studied at the College’s Trujillo, Spain campus and I sometimes talk about it at informational meetings. I have met friends here that I will have for life! I believe the College has truly prepared me for my future where I hope to one day be a sports broadcaster.

Why CofC?: I chose the College because of the personal education and the fact that I knew I wouldn't be just another face in the crowd.

Donna Davis
Donna Davis
Class of 2014

Major: Exercise Science
Hometown: Florence, S.C.

Interests/Activities: Charleston 40, Orientation Intern, Resident Assistant (RA), afterschool tutor for Chucktown Squash and Greek life. In my free time I love to go to the beach, run, dance, shop, participate in any outdoors activities, and hang out with friends.

Why CofC?: To me CofC was the total package. The location offered me the best of both worlds being in such a historical and adventurous city, but at the same time the campus felt like a small school. I also wanted an education where I was more than just a number. With the class size and student to faculty ratio I knew that my professors would know me personally and care about helping me be successful. I would also be lying if I didn't say that the beauty of the city was a huge attraction. At the end of the day, the College was a no brainer!
