The Distinguished Advising Award honors those faculty members who have demonstrated a sustained dedication to students in the area of academic advising.
- Established 1994
- Number of recipients annually: no fewer than two & no more than three
- Committee: appointed by Provost (past recipients, Deans, Chairs)
- Award: $1500 divided evenly among recipients & framed certificates
- Person to whom letters of nomination should be sent: Dr. Michael Marcell (Psychology department), Chair of the Committee
The Distinguished Advising Award will be given to faculty/staff who have demonstrated a dedication to students in the advising area. Letters of nomination should include a description of the nominee’s advising service and the reasons why he/she should be selected. Any faculty/staff member may be nominated, and selections will be made by a committee of past award recipients.
