The Distinguished Research Award honors those faculty members who have been selected by the faculty and administration as recipients of the Distinguished Research Award. The college recognizes their colleagues who have distinguished themselves by a career of significant research.

Letters of nomination should briefly describe the nominee’s scholarly work and its significance. Nominations should be seconded by another faculty member who may co-author the nomination letter or write a separate letter. You should discuss the significance of the nominee’s research, but you do not need to provide documentation because such additional materials will be requested directly from the nominee. The selection of the recipient will be made from recommendations by the Faculty Research & Development Committee. The evaluation will be based on the nominee’s scholarly and/or creative works within the past few years, i.e. recent books, articles, papers, presentations, paintings and/or other artistic productions. Such scholarly/creative works will be judged for their quality and significance as well as for their quantity.
