The Distinguished Teaching Award honors those faculty members who have been designated by their colleagues as recipients of the Distinguished Teaching Award. The recipients typify high standards and commitment to teaching excellence imparted throughout their careers.

- Person to whom letters of nomination should be sent: Dr. Martin Jones (Mathematics department), Chair of the Selection Committee
Letters of nomination should describe fully the reasons why the nominator considers the individual to be outstanding among other excellent teachers and give specific examples and documentation whenever possible. The selection committee is comprised of recent recipients of the award and the Student Government President or his/her appointee.
