James L. Carew received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas in Austin in 1978. His research interests include: Paleobiology, carbonate sedimentary petrology, quaternary geology, and karst geology. He is currently working on Geomicrobiology and the role of bacteria in cave and karst formation, the life cycle of Cerion and use of stable isotopes in Cerion shells for paleoclimatic reconstruction, and stable isotopes in Bahamian speleothems. He has also recently been published in the 12th Symposium in the Geology of the Bahamas and Other Carbonate Regions.
