Angela C. Halfacre
Political Science

2008 Distinguished Teacher-Scholar Award


Angela Halfacre received her B.A. in Political Science from Furman University, and both her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Florida. Her fields of specialization include: American Government, Public Policy, Methodology, and Comparative Politics, as well as a substantive focus on Environmental Policy. Before joining the College of Charleston, Dr. Halfacre served as the Coordinator for the Environmental Studies Programs at Albright College where she was also an Assistant Professor. In addition she was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Twente in the Netherlands in 1998. She is currently an Associate Professor at the College of Charleston, teaching courses in Political Science. She served as the Director for the Master of Environmental Studies Program at the College from 1999 to 2004, and is also currently a Board Member of the South Carolina Coastal Conservation League. Dr. Halfacre has been published in GeoJournal, International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education, Economic Botany, PS: Political Science and Politics as well as others.
