Dr. Hunt has taught English at the College of Charleston since joining the faculty as Associate Professor in 1976. He was promoted to the rank of Professor in 1983.
Dr. Hunt’s scholarship interests are English Romanticism and Modern Poetry. He currently teaches Composition & Literature, Major British Writers, The Romantic Period and Modern Poetry.
Dr. Hunt served as Faculty Secretary 1981-96 and taught in the honors Program in 1981. In acknowledgement of his responsive to the needs of students, he was named by Student Affairs as one of the “Most Approachable” faculty members in 1993.
Dr. Hunt received his A.B. degree from Harvard College and his B.Litt. as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University. He earned his Ph.D. at Harvard University.
Before coming to the College, Dr. Hunt was Assistant Professor at Princeton University 1970-76.
