Penelope J McKeever

1999 Distinguished Advising Award


Penelope McKeever received her B.A. in Economics from the College of Charleston and joined the administrative staff of the Business Administration Department in 1985. She worked with the school, industry and government to establish the Intermodal Transportation Program in 1985, which continues to be one of the most respected industry-academic initiatives of the College. When the School of Business and Economics was established and awarded accreditation by AACSB in 1988, she began advising students in academic and career areas. She developed the current advising program at the School and worked with the Office of New Student Programs to streamline the summer orientation sessions. She served as Director of Advising for the business school until December 2007 when she accepted a position as the Coordinator of Global Studies Education, overseeing the International Business major and foreign exchange programs.
