1996 Distinguished Advising Award

Dr. Plunkett joined the College of Charleston faculty in 1984 as Assistant Professor of Accounting. After promotions to Associate Professor in 1987 and Professor in 1994, Dr. Plunkett became director of the new graduate program in Accountancy in 1996. She oversaw the Masters in Science program until her retirement in 1998.

Dr. Plunkett earned her B.B.A. degree from Emory University and her M.P.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Georgia State University.

During her tenure at the College of Charleston, Dr. Plunkett served as President of the South Carolina Accounting Instructors’ Association.

Prior to arriving at the College, she was Assistant Professor and Director of the Accounting Program at Oglethorpe University.
