Norris W. Preyer, Jr.

2003 Distinguished Advising Award


Norris W. Preyer, Jr. received his B.S. in Pysics from MIT in 1975, and then after one year in the Astronomy Graduate Program at the University of Chicago, taught Physics at the McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He then received his Ph.D. in Condensed-matter Physics from MIT in 1990. Before coming to the College of Charleston in 1998, where he currently serves as an Associate Professor of Physics, Dr. Preyer was an Associate Professor or Physics at Eastern Oregon University for eight years. He has recently been published in Applied Optics, Advanced Biomedical and Clinical Diagnostic Systems, and American Journal of Physics.
