Terry Richardson received his B.S. in Physics from the University of South Carolina and his M.S. in Astronomy from Vanderbilt University. After taking several years to hike and photograph the Appalachian Trail, teach Chemistry in at a prep school, and study plant taxonomy and invertebrate zoology, Professor Richardson earned an Ed.S. Degree from the George Peabody College for Teachers. He was offered a temporary position with the Physics Department at the College of Charleston, which became permanent in the fall of 1981, and he has been teaching at the College since. Professor Richardson’s academic interests include: Aspheric mirror optics testing, small bodies of the solar system, introductory lab curricula, and public science education.
