Dinesh G. Sarvate

Dr. Sarvate came to the College of Charleston in 1988 as Assistant Professor of Mathematics. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1992 and to Professor in 1999. He also serves as Campus Director of the South Carolina Alliance for Minority Participation (SCAMP).

He currently teaches Elementary Statistics and Discrete Structures in the Department of Mathematics.

Dr. Sarvate received his M.A. degree from the University of Indore, M.Phil. from the University of Kurukshetra and Ph.D. from the University of Sydney. Before joining the faculty at the College, he was a Lecturer at Indore University, VPTI College at Indore and the University of Papua New Guinea.

In addition to the Distinguished Research Award in 1998 and the Distinguished Advising Award in 2001, the College has recognized Dr. Sarvate with the School of Science and Mathematics Distinguished Achievement Award in 1998, Departmental Special Recognition for Service in 2002 and Departmental Special Recognition for Student Research in 2003.
