Ann Stein first came to the College of Charleston in 1985 as adjunct faculty, teaching one course a semester when she was needed. She became a full-time visiting instructor in 1990, and is currently a Senior Instructor.
Her particular interest is in internships. In addition to several sections of Introduction to Sociology, she teaches the internship course in sociology She was honored for her work with interns as recipient of the Distinguished Advising Award in 2004.
Her undergraduate degree is from Emory University and she earned a Masters degree in sociology from the University of Virginia.
Before she began teaching, she worked as a sociologist for local government (Miami-Dade County, Florida), non-profit organizations, and as a research consultant.
