Michael R. Tyzack received his D.F.A. in Painting, Drawing and Printmaking in 1955 from London University. He taught and lectured extensively in both the UK and North America, and was a Professor of Fine Arts at the College of Charleston.
In the past five decades Professor Tyzack was the recipient of many distinguished awards, including a French Government Scholarship in Fine Art, First Prize in the 1965 John Moores Liverpool Exhibition, a Welsh Arts Council Commission, and several College of Charleston Foundation Awards. His work has appeared in over fifty group shows internationally, and his paintings are in the permanent public collections of over 30 museums including Tate Britain in London, England, and the National Gallery of Wales, in Cardiff, Wales.
