Application Requirements

Freshman:
- Apply Online - if you have already created a username and account, click here to finish and submit your online application. If you have not created a username and account and are beginning your online application for the first time, click here. If you have forgotten your password for your online application, click here.
- Application - The College of Charleston’s deadline for our early notification admissions phase is October 15. Early Notification applicants will receive a decision towards the end of December. Decisions made during the Early Notification phase will focus on a student’s academic achievement, course curriculum and SAT I or ACT scores.
- Transcripts from each high school/college you have attended
- SAT/ACT scores
- Secondary School Report

- Personal Statement. If you are applying to the Honors College you may use your Honors essay as your personal statement.
- Letters of Recommendation are not required (see below)

Transfer, Second Degree, and Readmit Students:

- Transcript Request Form - Transcripts from each college/university you have attended
- Letter describing your professional and educational activities since last attending the College of Charleston (readmits only)
- Students with less than 30 earned hours at the time of application must send high school transcripts and SAT/ACT scores

Non-Degree Seeking: (Students not currently seeking a degree from the College of Charleston)
- Visiting Students: Documentation from current college/university and transcript for pre-requisite verification
- Concurrent High School Students: Letter of recommendation from High School Administration and current High School Transcript
- Adult Students: Applicants 21 and older seeking to build or resume a collegiate academic record or college graduates taking coursework for professional development and graduate programs not currently seeking an undergraduate degree
- SC Senior Citizens: Applicants who want to enroll under this program must demonstrate proof of age and meet some specific course requirements to enroll.
- Letters of Recommendation (except for concurrent high school students) are not required (see below)

Application Deadlines

   

Freshmen:
We accept applications for the fall and spring semesters. The deadline for fall is February 1. The deadline for spring is December 1.

For fall enrollment, students will be considered for our non-binding, Early Notification period if they submit completed applications on or before October 15 . Decisions for Early Notification candidates are mailed towards the end of December. Applications received or completed after October 15 are considered in the regular notification pool. These students will be notified by mid-April.

Decisions made during the Early Notification phase will focus on a student’s academic achievement, course curriculum and SAT I or ACT scores.

Students who wish to accept a space in the fall incoming class must pay their tuition deposit by May 1. The tuition deposit is refundable until May 1. The tuition deposit deadline for spring is January 1.

Transfer:
We accept applications for the fall and spring semesters. The deadline for fall is May 1. The deadline for spring is December 1.
Readmits:
We accept applications for the fall and spring semesters.

If you left the College with a grade point average above 2.0 the deadlines for degree readmission will be May 1st for Fall semester and December 1st for Spring semester.

If you left the College with a grade point average below 2.0 the deadlines for degree readmission will be May 1st for Fall semester and November 1 for Spring semester.
