*Letters of recommendation
beyond the counselor recommendation on the Secondary
School Report are not a requirement for application to the College
of Charleston. Only applicants who are also applying to our Honors
College are required to obtain two (2) teacher recommendations for
the Honors application.
If you are not applying to the Honors College and still wish to submit
letters of recommendation, please limit them to two. They must
be submitted via email to admapplicants@cofc.edu.
Please use the subject line "Recommendation Letter."
Resumes, activity sheets and any other additional information that you
wish to submit to us should also be emailed to admapplicants@cofc.edu.
Transfer
and Readmit Students:

Letter describing your professional and educational activities since
last attending the College of Charleston (readmits only)
Students with less than 30 earned hours at the time of application must
send high school transcripts and SAT/ACT scores

Application
Deadlines
We accept applications for the fall and spring semesters. The deadline
for fall is April 1. The deadline for spring is November 1.
For fall enrollment,
students will be considered for our non-binding, Early Action period
if they submit completed applications on or before November 1. Decisions
for Early Action candidates are mailed mid-December. Applications
received or completed after November 1 are considered in the regular
applicant pool. These students will be notified mid-April.
Students who wish to accept a space in the fall incoming class must
pay their tuition deposit by May 1. The tuition deposit is refundable
until May 1. The tuition deposit deadline for spring is January 1.
Online Degree Application Information
We encourage all
degree-seeking applicants to apply
online. Instructions and all requirements are available when you
click the "apply online" link. Freshman applicants and transfer applicants
who have completed less than 30 semester hours of course work must also
submit a Secondary
School Report.
We do not have an
official recommendation form since they are not required as part of
the application. If you choose to send them to us as part of your application,
we will read them. Please make sure to have the student's full name
and Social Security Number on the submitted recommendation.

the application yourself and choose not to apply online, you may email
our office to request a paper
application form and one will be sent to you within the next 7-10 days.
