Prof. McStotts holds degrees from the University of Arizona (B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies, with Honors, magna cum laude) and the University of Georgia (M.H.P., 2003 with distinction; J.D., 2004, cum laude), and teaches courses in the Historic Preservation and Community Planning, Urban Studies, and Archaeology interdisciplinary programs, as well as the Clemson/College of Charleston joint graduate program in Historic Preservation (M.S.H.P). Her research has recently taken her from the Berlin Wall to the Japanese Internment Camps of the American West. She is the Project Review Editor for the International Journal of Heritage Studies and sits on the ICOMOS International Committee on Interpretation and Presentation. In 2006, Prof. McStotts founded the Nu chapter of the historic preservation honor society, Sigma Pi Kappa, at the College.

Research Interests
Preservation law and policy, specifically the expression of resource
values in preservation practice; the integration of natural and cultural resource management and conservation; interpretation and presentation, especially of "difficult" or uncomfortable history.
