All faculty, staff, and students will have to obtain new Cougar Cards.
Faculty and staff will have new pictures taken. The Cougar Card Office will be open all summer for re-carding services. To avoid long lines with orientation, which begins June 15th, it is suggested you take advantage of these designated weeks.
Faculty or staff who frequently use their cards are welcome to get their cards beginning May 15th as soon as needed. CARTA will accept old cards through August to allow time for the re-carding process
Why do I need a Cougar Card?
The Cougar Card is the official College of Charleston identification card issued to faculty and staff. Many campus departments use the Cougar Card as a means to grant access to information and services.
- Library card
- Personal debit card to access funds in a Cougar Cash account
- Campus recreation access card
- Valid for 10% discount at the College of Charleston Bookstore
- Pass to ride CARTA buses free of charge
- Dining plan card
- On-campus, photo identification
The Cougar Card is issued free of charge to all College of Charleston employees. If you are an employee who is enrolled in classes at the College, you will not be issued a Cougar Card identifying you as a student. Please continue to use your employee card as your campus card.
Employees no longer need to provide a verification form from Human Resources prior to obtaining a card. The Cougar Card is non-transferable and can be invalidated immediately if lost or stolen.
