Circulation:

Outreach Materials may be checked out by any one over the age of 18. You must have a valid driver’s license or another form of identification such as a Passport or Military I.D. card. You will also need to provide a local address and telephone number. Items are available for check out in the Reading Room of the Avery Research Center. Audio/Visual equipment such as televisions, VCRs, record players, and cassette players are not available for borrowing or rental. The Reading Room is open to the public Monday thru Friday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Books: Limit of 4
Educational and Instructional Materials: Limit of 2
VHS Tapes: Limit of 2
LP Records: Limit of 2

Loan Periods*
Books: 10 days
Educational Materials: 7 days
VHS Tapes: 5 days
LP Records: 5 days

*As Items Cannot Be Returned on Weekends, the Number of Days Represent Weekdays During Which Avery Research Center is Open to the Public.

Late Fees:

Books are 50 cents a day, up to a limit of $5 per item. All Other Materials are $1 a day, up to a limit of $10 per item. Lost or Damaged Materials will Result in a $25 fine and a loss of borrowing privileges.

Reserving Items:

A Patron may reserve any circulating item. Reserved items will be held for 5 business days at your request. You may reserve items via telephone by contacting the Avery Research Center Reading Room at 953-7608.

Renewing Items:

One renewal per item is allowed as long as no one else has reserved the item. Items can be renewed in person or over the phone.

Returning Items:

Items must be returned to the Avery Research Reading Room (and the Reading Room Only!) in person on the due date or late fines will apply. Again, items may be returned during normal business hours of Monday thru Friday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
