SBE SCHOLARSHIPS

THE SOUTH CAROLINA STEVEDORES ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
Rising Junior School of Business and Economics Major with Global Logistics Concentration/Minor or International Business Major

SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT: $1,500 Dependent upon funding.

NUMBER OF SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED: One Dependent upon funding

ELIGIBILITY: Rising junior School of Business and Economics major with a Global Logistics concentration/minor or an International Business major.  Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Applicant must be a resident of South Carolina.

APPLICATION PROCESS: Application will include: 500 word cover letter addressing why applicant should receive the scholarship and discussing his/her goals and objectives; a current résumé; a current degree audit; and a completed application form found online on the School of Business and Economics website under “scholarship forms”.

Scholarship awards will be announced after final Spring grades post.

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS: The applicant must be a declared School of Business and Economics major with a concentration/minor in Global Logistics or a declared International Business major.  The scholarship must be applied toward tuition during the Fall and Spring semesters for which the scholarship is awarded and funds are given. During the scholarship period, the recipient must be enrolled in at least 12 semester hours per semester, completing 24 semester hours in Fall and Spring semesters, and maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher.

SELECTION PROCESS: Selection will be made by the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management. Recipient of the scholarship is selected based on the eligibility criteria and strength of application which includes academic record, cover letter and current résumé. Applicant must demonstrate academic distinction and commitment to a career track in International Business or Global Logistics.

RENEWAL CRITERIA: May be renewed up to one year based on eligibility criteria.
