We travel the Southeast competing in regattas such as the Head of the Hooch and Head of the South against larger schools such as Clemson and the University of Tennessee. Our team has done well against this level of competition and has garnered many medals over the years. The team travels each October to Boston for the world's largest regatta, the Head of the Charles, and each May we head to Philadelphia for the Dad Vails regatta. We row from the Bristol Marina, located just blocks from campus, on the Ashley River within sight of the many historical mansions along the Battery. Members of the crew club find it is a great way to meet new people and to get involved on campus while taking advantage of the beautiful scenery that Charleston has to offer. Whether you are an experienced rower or have never picked up an oar, we would love to have you join. We have a great time on and off the water and you won’t want to miss out.

The College of Charleston Teaching Fellows Program offers to a select cohort of tomorrow's teachers the opportunity to participate in an experience that emphasizes scholastic achievement, offers personal attention and provides opportunities for leadership enhancement, service and enrichment. The program is designed to augment students' regular liberal arts class work and professional curriculum with a set of enrichment experiences (i.e. retreats, cultural events, trips, service activities and student led council) that are designed to assist in their development of interpersonal skills, leadership abilities and multicultural competency. At the same time, through multiple experiences in a variety of educational settings and participation in an on-going seminar, Teaching Fellows have opportunities to identify and articulate their sense of mission and service as teachers and to develop as professionals. The program is designed to enhance the students' college experience, not overwhelm it, as one of the goals for the South Carolina Teaching Fellows Program is for each Teaching Fellow to become an active participant and leader in all aspects of their campus community. While Fellows are encouraged to pursue their own paths, they do so in the context of a supportive community of leaders. We also have members from physics, engineering and mathematics, but we do not restrict membership to scientific fields. We gladly welcome those from education because we discuss the applications of technology in the classroom. We would like to have students from the arts because we enjoy discussions about the use of computers in both physical and virtual artwork. In fact, the only restriction for membership is that you must be a student at the College of Charleston with an interest in technology.
