R. Jeep Bryant

Executive Vice President

The Bank of New York Company, Inc.

R. Jeep Bryant is Executive Vice President for The Bank of New York Company, Inc., an international leader in securities servicing. Mr. Bryant's responsibilities include the company's global public relations program as well as internal communications serving 23,000 employees. Founded in 1784, The Bank of New York is the oldest bank in the United States and has played a prominent role in the evolution of the global financial markets.

Mr. Bryant joined The Bank of New York in 2003, bringing extensive experience in corporate communications, financial services and journalism to this leadership role. From 1999-2003, he served as Senior Vice President and Director of Corporate Communications at The PNC Financial Services Group in Pittsburgh where he created the internal communications and public relations strategy for the launch of a new corporate brand. He also led a comprehensive internal program that was recognized nationally for its success in driving bottom-line results through employee communications.

From 1989 to 1999, Mr. Bryant held key management positions within the corporate communications function at First Union Corporation in Charlotte , N.C. (now Wachovia Corp.). As Senior Vice President and Director of Corporate Communications, he led the strategic public relations program as the company expanded its operations from New Jersey to Florida through more than 40 acquisitions.

Mr. Bryant's career has also included positions as reporter, anchor and producer for three television news operations.

Mr. Bryant serves on the Advisory Council for the College of Charleston 's Department of Communication and is a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Institute for Public Relations. He is active in a number of professional organizations including The Wisemen, the Arthur W. Page Society and the Public Relations Seminar. He holds a bachelor's degree with highest honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
