Better Watchdog Conference

The Department of Communication is hosting a Better Watchdog Conference sponsored by two well-established news organizations on April 2-3 in the Education Center. Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) and the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) have developed the program to help journalists learn the investigative skills they need to keep government and corporations accountable. Critical among these skills is the ability to use federal and state Freedom of Information Act laws to open the doors to public information. Computer Assisted Reporting (CAR) training will also be provided to participants.
