Leigh Moscowitz

Leigh Moscowitz came to the Department of Communication in 2008 from Indiana University, where she completed her doctoral degree in journalism and mass communication.  Before her arrival in Charleston, Dr. Moscowitz taught at Indiana University and at Butler University in Indianapolis.

Prior to earning her advanced degrees, Dr. Moscowitz worked for several years in media industries, including several years as a media relations manager and corporate communications manager at Medical Manager Corporation (now WebMD).

Dr. Moscowitz's research emphasizes news constructions of social issues, such as the ongoing media coverage of the gay marriage debate.
