The Copy Center adheres to the Copyright Law of the United States of America and related laws contained in Title 17 of the United States Code.
The Copy Center cannot copy any material that is copyrighted unless permission has been granted.

Copy Services
Services offered include making copies and scanning documents.
Copy Services: Toner
- Black only
- Color (The color printer is a CMYK printer. Cyan, magenta, yellow, and black toner is mixed to create the colors used in your document. The color printer does not use ink.)

Copy Services: Paper Size
 The Copy Center offers four standard sizes for copying:
- 8.5x11, letter
- 8.5x14, legal
- 11x17, tabloid or ledger
- 12x18 (for full bleed 11x17 copies)
The Copy center also cuts/trims jobs for non-standard sizes as per the customer's specifications after the job has been printed.
Copy Services: Paper Weight
The Copy Center offers three standard paper weights in a variety of colors:
- Standard – a standard 20lb text weight paper
- Premium – a thicker 60lb text weight paper
- Coverstock – a 65lb-80lb cover paper often used for invitations and postcards.
In addition, the Copy Center can also make tabs and transparencies.

Copy Services: Scanning
The Copy Center can now scan your document:
- Scan & email (The Copy Center cannot email a document larger than 10mb.)
- Scan & save to disk (Disk must be provided by the customer.)
Please indicate whether you wish for the document to be scanned as color or black & white.
Also, please indicate which scan resolution* you wish your document to be saved as:
- 200 dpi
- 300 dpi
- 400 dpi
- 600 dpi

Finishing Services
Finishing services include signature booklets, binding, cutting, laminating.
Finishing Services: Binding
The Copy Center offers four binding choices:
- Plastic Comb- a plastic comb
- Tape - a glued book-style bind
- Coil - plastic round coil
- 1st Impression Binding: one piece jackets with a clear front cover and a white back cover glued spine
- Signature Booklet (saddle stitch): 11x17 folded to 8.5x11 double stapled with two staples along the spine or 8.5x11 folded to 5.5x8.5 with two staples along the spine

Finishing Services: Collation
The Copy Center can collate your job as requested. Collation can include clear covers, tabs, and various inserts of different color paper. List of Services | Copy Center Home
Finishing Services: Course Packs
The Copy Center produces course packets ordered through the College of Charleston’s Bookstore. The College of Charleston Bookstore will obtain permission and pay royalties, clean up your originals, indemnify the faculty, and provide a free desk copy. To order, contact the Textbook Manager at the College Bookstore at 953–5858.
Materials that can be turned into a course packet include:

- out of print books
- lab manuals
- public domain information

- periodical articles
- newspaper articles
- original works

- illustrations

Finishing Services: Cutting
 The Copy Center can cut or trim your job to your specifications, allowing for multiple copies to be made from one sheet. Examples include postcard to be mailed, bookmarks, handbills, etc.

Finishing Services: Lamination
The Copy Center can laminate any sheet of paper up to 11” x 17”.
- Cold Press Lamination – softer, flexible
- Heat Lamination – thicker, stiff lamination for greater durability
- Self-Adhesive Lamination – a stiff lamination with adhesive on one side for mounting
- Mounted Lamination – documents laminated to a foam board

Finishing Services: Mail Seals
The Copy Center can apply clear mailing seals in either one or two positions to comply with Mail Services regulations.

Finishing Services: Padding
Pads can be created with as many sheets per pad as you specify and glued on the top or side.
- Free scratch pads are available at the front counter.

Jobs can be individually shrink-wrapped into packets for distribution

The Copy Center can print tabs for your binders. The Copy Center carries 90# text, 5 bank white 9x11 inch printable tabs. Simply provide a list of tab headings.
