Description: This category recognizes local places of worship, agencies, companies/businesses, or community members for making exceptional contributions (not exclusively monetary contributions, but also includes volunteerism, assistance with curricular and/or co-curricular activities, programming or events, internships) and sustaining efforts to building, and improving the life for students attending the College. The Good Neighbor Award nominee demonstrates a strong commitment to the College’s core values, and is an advocate for creating an inclusive and welcoming campus environment.
Criteria: Nominee must be located within the Charleston, Berkeley, or Dorchester counties. Has collaborated with any of the six academic schools, departments, or offices at the College for at least two years. A nominee can be a place of worship, an outside organization, business/company, non-profit agency, or community member that has built a positive working partnership with the College; provided opportunities for students to engage in curricular or co-curricular projects; and empowered students to make a difference on campus or in the community.
