Federal Pell Grant
The Federal Pell Grant Program provides grants to first baccalaureate degree seeking students who have financial need and meet the other requirements for Federal Student Aid assistance. FSA pays Pell funds to all eligible students, and formulas determine how much each student receives. About 25% of College of Charleston students that complete the FAFSA receive a Pell Grant.

Pell Grants are available to first baccalaureate degree seeking students that have completed a FAFSA and any additional federal requirements, like verification. After a student has completed all the requirements, the College of Charleston will ensure that the student is awarded the appropriate Pell Grant for full-time enrollment (12 hours or more). A student that is enrolled less than full time should contact the Office of Financial Aid so that the aid can be properly adjusted. Students that have not used the complete yearly amount of Pell grant may be eligible to receive a Pell grant for summer school courses.
