	Air Force Aid Society
	Since its inception in 1942, the Air Force Aid Society (AFAS) has been committed to helping Air Force members and their families realize their academic goals. The centerpiece of the Society's education initiatives is the General Henry H. Arnold Education Grant Program which provides $2000 grants to sons, daughters, and spouses of Air Force members. 	Air Force ROTC Scholarships
	Air Force provides full tuition scholarships for qualified students in their junior and senior year. Scholarship recipients are limited to students with superior academic records who have been previously accepted for enrollment in the Air Force ROTC programs at Charleston Southern University. Textbook fees, a $300-$400 stipend per month, and other reasonable fees are also paid. 	Army ROTC Scholarships
	1-4 year scholarships are available for College of Charleston students interested in becoming US Army officers, whether active (full-time) or in the Reserve component (Army Reserve or National Guard). All majors are considered. Special Requirements: U.S. Citizens; between ages 17-27; meet physical standards; college GPA of 2.5 or above and ability to obtain a security clearance. Requires cross-enrollment and attendance of Army ROTC courses at The Citadel (with independent study being an option, particularly for Freshman and Sophomores). 	Horatio Alger Military Scholarship
	The Horatio Alger Military Scholarship is reported to be the first national scholarship specific specifically for Afghanistan and Iraq war veterans. The Horatio Alger Association will distribute a total of $10 million in scholarships to honorably discharged American veterans who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan. To be eligible, veterans must have served in Afghanistan or Iraq in 2001 or later and must demonstrate U.S. citizenship, financial need, and the intent to pursue bachelor's degrees. The deadline for applications is April 15th. Stars and Stripes reports that the $5,000 scholarships are to be paid directly to the schools in $1,250 increments over four years. 	Army Emergency Relief
	The Army Emergency Relief offers scholarships to students that are dependents and spouses of Army soldiers. View their website for application deadlines and award amounts.
	The Fund for Veterans' Education
	The Fund for Veterans' Education provides scholarships to veterans who served in Afghanistan or Iraq since Septemberr 11, 2001. For more information visit their website at www.veteransfund.org.
	NMFA Joanne Holbrook Patton Military Spouse Scholarship Program
	The National Military Family Association’s Joanne Holbrook Patton Military Spouse Scholarships are awarded to spouses of Uniformed Services members (active duty, National Guard and Reserve, retirees, and survivors) to obtain professional certification or to attend post secondary or graduate school. Scholarships range in amount from $500 to $1,000, and the number awarded each year varies depending on funding. 	Military Order of the Purple Heart
	The program is administered by the National Headquarters of the Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) with funding provided by the Service Foundation of the Order. To be eligible, applicants must be a child or grandchild (natural, adopted, or step-) or the spouse of a MOPH member in good standing; be a citizen of the United States; be a graduate of an accredited high school; have a capacity for advanced academic achievement or the potential for technical proficiency demonstrated by a 3.5 GPA based on a 4.0 grading system; and be enrolled in a full-time program of studies in a college or trade school. 	Military Spouses Scholarship
	To benefit military spouses and their families, the Department of Defense is partnering with schools and other agencies to support military spouses in pursuit of education, training, licensing, credentialing and employment in high growth, high demand portable careers. Your school or agency can help military spouses up to $6,000 in Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA) Financial Assistance. 	Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society
	The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society provides educational assistance to the children and unremarried spouses of deceased service members. More information and application instructions can be found on the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society website.
	Lucile Parrish Ward Veterans Award
	The Lucile Parrish Ward Veterans Award is available to any veteran of the Armed forces of the United States whose service in the military caused a delay in the pursuit of a music career. The amount of the award is $2000. To be eligible a student must have a high school diploma or GED, and be accepted or currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, in pursuit of an undergraduate, Masters, or Doctoral degree in the field of music. 	South Carolina National Guard Assistance Program CAP
	These SC National Guard College Assistant Program benefits will cover the cost of attendance as defined by Title IV regulation, up to a maximum amount each award year. The maximum amount will be made annually and detailed in established procedures, to be administered by the Commission on Higher Education. Up to a maximum of $4,500 for the Army National Guard and up to a maximum of $9,000 for the Air National Guard can be awarded. However, the benefit maximum per award year may be reduced if, in combination with other financial aid, the cumulative total of all aid received would exceed the cost of attendance. Total lifetime benefit may not exceed $18,000. 	Troops to Teachers
	Troops to Teachers is a cooperative project between the U.S. Department of Education and the South Carolina Department of Education. Troops to Teachers is a federally funded program to assist retired and separated members of the Armed Forces, as well as Guard and Reserve personnel with obtaining certification and employment as teachers. 	VA Mortgage Center.com's Military Education Scholarship Program
	VA Mortgage Center.com awards three $1000 scholarships each May and November to students with eligible ROTC or military affiliation. Scholarship recipients must be full-time students or planning to enroll full-time within the year and are chosen based on essay submissions.
