The Graduate Student Association

Over the past year, several of your classmates have worked diligently to see that your interests are represented to the administration, program directors, and professors of the College. The vision of the GSA is to give you a voice, to enhance your scholarship and to establish and sustain community. We will have several programs going on throughout the year that will fulfill the mission of all three aspects of our vision. Our hope is that your experience as a graduate student at the College of Charleston will be enriched as a direct result of the GSA’s presence and work.

Calendar of Events

The Graduate Student Association was recently recognized by College of Charleston as the governing body for its graduate students. Because the GSA Constitution does not call for elections until the Spring semester, an interim executive committee has been elected by the founding members of the GSA.  The interim group will enable GSA activities to begin immediately.  If you are interested in helping out with the GSA by serving on a committee or in the GSC/Senate then please email the Executive Board Officers at gsa@cofc.edu.

Thanks to everyone who helped make our very first event, the GSA Kickoff, a smashing success! Despite the forecast for rain, over 120 students and faculty came out to Ft. Johnson to meet each other, listen to the soothing sounds of "Folkgrass", and enjoy hot bbq!
