Increasing Research Funding & Opportunity
2007 was an influential year to the research efforts of our students.
The Graduate Studies Office hosted the inaugural Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) seminars this past Fall, and they were attended by 52 students. Now mandatory for all graduate students, the RCR seminars provide training on the ethical standards of research.
To help expose the community to our students’ research, we also held our first Graduate Research Poster Session in 2007. Twenty-eight graduate students competed for one of six honorarium awards. This year's Poster Session featured 20 presentations; you can see the winners here.
Finally, students are able to electronically publish their thesis through UMI Dissertation Publishing - a leader in thesis publishing. Our students’ theses are now published, archived and distributed with the option to be filed with a copyright registration with the United States Copyright Office. Their work is preserved in microform and digital format and is searchable on the internet.
